Terms of Service

By accessing or using flarient.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms were last updated on 20 August 2026.

1. The service

Flarient provides real-time space-weather information aggregated from public scientific sources for general interest, education and planning. It is an independent platform and is not affiliated with NOAA, NASA, ESA or JPL. The service includes:

• A live dashboard with Kp index, solar wind, aurora map, flares, CMEs, Dst, HF radio, GPS, solar cycle, proton flux, radiation, satellite drag and asteroid tracking.
• Daily AI-generated briefings, blog articles, audio briefings, the Daily Space Podcast and a searchable archive.
• Aurora forecast, aurora trip planner, aurora cam, community aurora map and aurora diary.
• Storm tracking, storm replay, storm compare and preparedness checklists.
• Near-Earth object tracking with individual asteroid detail pages and a Flarient Concern Score for each close approach.
• Ionosphere Monitor with real-time global TEC map, GNSS accuracy impact assessment and F10.7 correlation.
• Satellite tracking with live ISS, Tiangong and Hubble positions, a searchable CelesTrak orbital catalog and a launch schedule from Launch Library 2.
• Signal Network with SatNOGS community satellite telemetry and aurora observation reporting.
• My Flarient Terminal — personal space weather monitoring for locations, equipment, trips and infrastructure with live status, alerts, 7-day forecasts, a shared terminal page, and the Flarient Impact Engine providing asset-specific decision intelligence scores.
• Impact Decoder, My Signals and personalised alert thresholds.
• Crews for group aurora chasing with invite links, polls and activity feeds.
• Event Passport, Forecast League, Live Event mode and a Space Calendar.
• Gamification: leaderboard, badges, streaks, quiz and achievement notifications.
• Telegram bot, Facebook Messenger bot, Discord notifications, web push notifications and LinkedIn business impact posts.
• UAP sighting reports and a space programs tracker.
• Forecast Exchange with LMSR prediction markets, PIQ points, reputation scoring, prediction duels, AI bot agents, AI analyst predictions and an enterprise API.
• Orbit Shop with cosmetic avatar frames, badge styles, profile themes and AI-generated gifts.
• Fact Checker — AI-powered space weather misinformation debunking with verdict stickers, source citations and dedicated article pages.
• Space Events section with searchable, filterable astronomical event calendar and in-depth event detail pages.
• Flarient Constellation — open-source GitHub projects including the Event Ledger, Space Calendar, Aurora Badges, Aurora Station, Space Weather Action, Forecast Benchmark and Research Notebooks.
• Embeddable widgets with live previews, theme and size controls, available in iframe, JavaScript and WordPress shortcode formats, plus a WordPress plugin.
• Email newsletters (weekly recap, daily digest, real-time alerts).
• A 13-language interface with AI-powered auto-translation.

2. No warranty and not an official forecast

Data is sourced from third parties and provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Raw scientific measurements produced by US government agencies (NOAA, NASA, JPL/CNEOS) are in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. 105 and CC0. GFZ Potsdam data is provided under open licences. Flarient is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any data provider. Flarient must not be relied upon for safety-critical, aviation, navigation or operational decisions. Always consult official sources such as NOAA SWPC for authoritative forecasts. Daily briefings, blog articles, audio briefings and auto-translated content are generated by automated AI agents and may contain errors, outdated information or translation inaccuracies.

3. User accounts and content

Registered users can set a display name, save locations, bookmarks, submit aurora photos, sighting reports, signal observations, UAP sightings, photo competition entries, crew activity, Forecast League predictions, and participate in the leaderboard. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you submit. You grant Flarient a non-exclusive licence to display your submitted content (photos, reports, observations, display name) on the platform, in email newsletters, and in social media posts linking to flarient.com. You can delete your content at any time.

4. Acceptable use

You may view, share and embed the Flarient widgets on your own website subject to these terms. You may not scrape, overload, mirror or republish the service in bulk without permission, or attempt to disrupt its operation. Automated access to the public API should be reasonable (see the API documentation page). You may not abuse the gamification system, manipulate the leaderboard, submit fraudulent votes in photo competitions, spam the Signal Network with false observations, abuse the community flagging system, or manipulate the Forecast League by submitting predictions outside the allowed date range.

5. Messaging bots and push notifications

Our Telegram and Facebook Messenger bots send aurora window alerts, daily digests and storm notifications based on your chosen threshold and location. You can unsubscribe at any time by sending STOP (Messenger) or /stop (Telegram). Web push notifications require your explicit browser permission and can be revoked at any time from your browser settings or the account page. Bot and push alert delivery is best-effort and not guaranteed — always check the dashboard for the latest conditions.

6. Premium subscriptions

Premium features are available via paid subscription processed by our secure payment provider. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled at our discretion — contact hello@derinatlas.com for refund requests. We reserve the right to modify premium feature sets and pricing with reasonable notice. The Forecast League prize (12 months of Premium, valued at £48) is awarded at our discretion to the most accurate eligible prediction per target year.

7. Forecasting platform — not a gambling product

Flarient is a scientific probabilistic forecasting platform. It is not a casino, sportsbook, financial exchange, investment platform, or wagering product. PIQ (Prediction IQ) points are free, non-transferable units used to express conviction and information contribution in prediction markets. They are automatically replenished, cannot be purchased, sold, withdrawn, or exchanged for cash, gift cards, products, NFTs, or anything having independently realizable monetary value. Orbit Credits are a separate cosmetic currency for non-competitive visual customisation only — they cannot purchase PIQ points, influence leaderboard scores, affect tournament qualification, or be transferred outside Flarient. Competitive forecasting is completely separated from paid currency. The platform uses an LMSR-style automated market maker with configurable liquidity classes and influence limits to prevent market distortion.

7a. Cosmetics and avatar customisation

Orbit Credits (Ø) can be spent in the Orbit Shop on cosmetic items including avatar frames, badge styles, profile themes, and AI-generated gifts. Cosmetic items are purely visual — they do not affect forecasting, leaderboard standing, tournament eligibility, or any competitive outcome. Equipped cosmetics (such as an avatar frame) are displayed around your profile photo across the site, including the top-bar account button and post cards. You can equip or unequip any owned cosmetic at any time, and an "Original" option is always available to revert to the plain default appearance. Cosmetic items are non-transferable between accounts and have no monetary value. Premium-only cosmetics require an active premium subscription to acquire but can be equipped and unequipped freely once owned.

8. Enterprise API and bot agents

The enterprise API provides versioned endpoints for consensus intelligence, risk scores, divergence data, and spacecraft risk. API keys are scoped, rate-limited, and metered. Bot agents may register to submit forecasts via secure API endpoints with structured probabilities. Bot submissions are timestamped server-side, rate-limited independently from human accounts, and subject to anti-abuse controls. Enterprise customers must not redistribute raw API data without attribution, use NASA, NOAA, or other third-party branding in a way that suggests endorsement, claim copyright over raw factual data, or attempt to distort consensus intelligence through coordinated bot activity. Raw scientific measurements in API responses remain the property of their respective providers under their applicable licences.

9. Research Wing and AI Review Panel

Research submissions are community-contributed forecast analyses. All submissions are processed through automated moderation, spam detection, and a multi-LLM AI Review Panel that evaluates evidence strength, reasoning quality, source quality, and forecast consistency. The AI Review Panel is automated — it is not a panel of human experts. Research scores are transparent and may be reprocessed when scoring systems change. Featured research is selected using a combination of AI review score, author reputation, community quality signals, originality, and forecasting performance — not popularity alone.

10. Direct messaging and friends

Registered users can send direct messages to each other, search for users by name or username, and send friend requests for quick access to frequent contacts. Messages are private between participants. Users can disable direct messages, require minimum points, or restrict messages to verified observers from their account page. Friend requests require mutual acceptance — a pending request does not grant messaging access until accepted. Users can report abusive messages or behaviour from the messaging interface.

11. Intellectual property and data provenance

Original content produced by Flarient (briefings, blog articles, analysis, design, software, aggregation, normalisation, probabilistic forecasting methodology, consensus engine, risk scoring algorithms, and presentation) is © Flarient. Flarient's intellectual property is in the aggregation, analysis, and presentation layer, not in the raw scientific measurements themselves. Raw scientific data remains the property of its respective providers and is used under their applicable licences. US government data (NOAA, NASA, JPL/CNEOS) is in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. 105 and CC0. GFZ Potsdam data is provided under open licences. Flarient claims no copyright over raw factual data. All scientific attribution is preserved in API responses, widgets, and dashboard readings. User-submitted photos remain the property of the photographer; Flarient displays them under the licence granted in section 3.

11a. Affiliate links and commercial content

Some blog articles may contain contextual affiliate links to third-party astronomy and astrophotography products, such as DWARFLAB. These links are identified by an "Ad · Affiliate link" disclosure placed adjacent to the recommendation. If you purchase through an affiliate link, Flarient may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Flarient does not endorse, test, or own the linked products, and affiliate placements are generated automatically based on editorial relevance. The presence of an affiliate link does not influence the scientific content of an article, and articles remain useful and complete without the affiliate paragraph. Purchases made through affiliate links are governed by the third-party retailer's own terms of service and policies.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flarient and its operator (Derin Atlas) shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the service, including decisions based on AI-generated content, aurora forecasts, storm predictions, bot alerts, push notifications, auto-translated content, or gamification features.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
